Holidays Around The Corner! Even with the temperature still in the 90's it's not too soon to make your holiday hair appointments! We are currently booking appointments through 2009, so if you have a specific party date, make your appointment now to ensure you get the time that works best for you. We'll have extended holiday hours during November and December so book now for the best selection!
Botox Party Time! Our third Botox party with Dr. Gray is scheduled for Monday, September 8th, at 6pm. Our first two parties sold out as he can only accommodate 20 people at each event. $10.00 holds your seat and the price of the procedure is roughly half of what you would pay at an office visit. Dr. Gray is also considering doing a demonstration of what fillers can do for one lucky guest. If you are interested in attending, just let your stylist or someone at the front desk know so that we can add you to the list!
Baby News! We are sad to say our daytime receptionist Caitlin has left us to have her second child, a little girl tentatively named Sofia. Caitlin is moving to Davis to be closer to her mother. While we're very sad to lose her, we know she'll have her hands full with two little ones. Just as Caitlin takes her maternity leave, Amy found out some exciting news. She is expecting her second baby! It's too soon to know the sex or even the due date, but she too will have her hands full with two under 2! With twelve women working in the same building it seems like we're continually awaiting the next addition to the Gavora family.
Johni Moves Up and Out! Johni's advanced education has been extensive and very diverse. She's attended numerous classes and workshops, worked the back room at hair shows and even got to be on the opposite side of the chair, as a model for an industry photo shoot in Los Angeles! Johni will soon be accepting new clients and would love any referrals you would like to send. She'll be working evenings and Saturdays and is extremely excited to start her career!
Kim Moving Up and Welcoming Maria! As part of our mandatory education process, new stylists assist in our salon until their advanced education is complete and their work is consistent with the standard we've set for the salon. So, as Johni moves on, Kim our part-time assistant moves into the full-time assistant position and begins her advanced training. As Kim moves up, this opens the position for the next in-coming stylist. Thus, we're pleased to introduce Maria Martinez, the newest addition to the Gavora team. Maria comes to us as one of the first graduates of the new Paul Mitchell Academy in Modesto. Maria is working at the front desk and assisting, as she gradually starts her learning process. We expect great things from Kim and Maria and are excited to have them as part of the team!
Mark Your Calendars! We know it's a little early but you know we like to be ahead of the competition, so consider this your first Christmas invitation. The 6th Annual Gavora Christmas party will be held Saturday December 6th! This is one you won't want to miss. We'll have great food and drinks, all the salons products that day are 20% off and every guest will receive a gift bag with products valued at over $25.00 just for coming by. Additionally, we will have hourly drawings for gift baskets, and we'll be giving away one with a total value of over $400.00! Each year has been bigger and better then the previous so stay tuned to find out what this year has in store!
What's With the Wardrobe? Frequently we are asked, "do you guys plan your clothes to match"? The answer to that is yes and no. On Thursdays specifically, we have "color of the month" which is chosen the month prior at our team meeting by the person or persons that have a birthday during the following month. Other than Thursdays, our support team of receptionists and assistants have always worn black, but starting in September the entire team has decided to return to an all black dress code.
